Term 1 : Reflections
Week 4 : HBL
You must reflect on at least two habits you haved used. You must also rate your learning on this online lesson on a scale of 1- 4 (1 = Poor, 2= Average, 3 = Good, 4 = Excellent) .

Eg.
Dear Ms Ang,
In this lesson, I used the habit of applying the past knowlege to new situation ...

In this lesson, I had enjoyed ... . I gave myself a rating of 4 in this lesson.

Thanks

Dear Ms Ang,
I used the habit of striving for accuracy. It is a simple topic that requires precision. Without accuracy, the answers will all be wrong and therefore, it is important to strive for accuracy. I rate it 3.

Dear Ms Ang
In this lesson,I used the habit of being careful and concetrated whatever how simple the question is.I had learnt these thing two years before, but when I was playing the game at the first time,I still failed for not being enough concentrated. So I was very careful and concentrated at the second time and succeed.
I enjoyed the process of solving a problem and getting the correct answer. That made me have the sense of accomplishment and feel confident.I gave myself a rating of 3.However,I still thought that there are something wrong and unaccurate in the online quiz. I hoped that you could check for us.
Thank you.
Regards .

Dear Ms Ang,

In this lesson, I used the habit of applying the past knowlege to new situation. We have learnt quadratic equation before and in fact touched a bit on completing the square last year. But this online lesson allows me to go a step further and explore more about completing the square. I remembered last year when I was confused and puzzled during completing the square lessons. However this online lesson is proven to be a succes due to its clarity and explanations. I cannot say that I fully understand and mastered completing the square but I am sure I have gained alot more knowledge from this lesson.
The habit of thinking flexibly. Sometimes my brain couldnt solve the equation when I rush. When I slow down and think again, maybe I presumed the question wrongly. So I try again and succeed . Thank Ms Ang for helping me learn more !
Thanks

Dear Ms Ang,

Although i learned the method of completing the square before, this lesson helped me to further understand how it can be used. I used the habit of striving for accuracy in my online quiz and got good results. I also used the habit of applying past knowledge (on completing the square) to new situations such as the more difficult quadratic questions . I give myself a rating of 3 in this lesson

regards

Dear ms Ang

In this lesson, i used the habit of applying past knowledge to new situations as well as the habit of thinking flexibly. When i had difficulties about solving those equations, such as completing the square, I just thought about the things I learnt before, like (a+b)^2=a^2+b^2+2ab and (a-b)^2=a^2+b^2-2ab. And when I found that the equations were hard to be made into the square type, I just thought in some other ways, and that helped me a lot.

In this lesson, I had enjoyed solving equations in several ways. And I gave myself a rating of 4 in this lesson, as I believe that I am able to solve such equations easily now.

Dear Ms Ang,
In the lesson, I have learnt the habit of applying the past knowlege to new situation. Although I have already mastered the "new" knowledge before the class, it reminds me of another way solving quadric equations. In this lesson I enjoy the easiness and the flexibility of the questions.
I gave myself a rating of 4 in this lesson.

Thanks

These are the six habits adopted by the Mathematics Department in HCI (2009-Now).

1. The habit of Persisting
2. The habit of Striving for accuracy and precision (Mathematical language)
3. The habit of Applying past knowledge to new situations
4. The habit of Thinking flexibly
5. The habit of Responding with wonderment and awe
6. The habit of Questioning and Posing problems

Firstly,i want to say that the magic Egypt Fraction amazed me very much.I admire the ancient Egypt citizens to discover this form of fraction.I also build the habit of passing the old knowlege to new situation.Different questions have different datas, however we can solve them with the same method. There are always some relations between the mathemetic questions.

Keep up your good effort.

in this lesson, i used the The habit of Applying past knowledge to new situations. these questions are all quite new to me. however, once i thought about the methods i learnt before, i found that i was able to deal with the problems. what's more, i have a suggestion that maybe we can learn more about the things which are closer to our daily life, such as applied mathematics,so that it would not be too sleepy reading such many passages.
Good to hear this.

Dear Ms Ang,
In this online lesson,I am glad that I learnt further about Egyptian fractions. In fact ,I have already read about it in math newspaper before.Howerver,at that moment,I did not try to learn more about it.After this lesson,I got more curious about such amazing acient math that I got more information from Internet by myself.I found interest is so important for my study.A great interest in a subject can help me learn better and persisting studying. Also,to learn more new knowledge or learn further is based on my own past knowledge.I think it is a great skill for me to apply past knowledge to new situation that can help me learn more effectively.I will keep striving.
In this lesson,I enjoyed learning the amazing egyptian fraction.
Thanks
